100 Calorie Diet Tip #103 - Eating Fat Myth

Posted by The 100 Calorie Girls

Myth:

A NO FAT diet is good for you.

Fact:

Some people think that the best way to lose weight is to cut out ALL their fat.  This is NOT true.  Your body needs fat for tissue repair and the transportation of important vitamins like A, D, E and K.  It is also needed for energy.  Having less saturated fat and more unsaturated fats is the best way to go… but never cut out all your fats.

Here are a few types of fats that are good for you:

•Avocado
•Canola oil
•Nuts like almonds, cashews, pecans, and peanuts
•Olive oil and olives
•Peanut butter and peanut oil
•Sesame seeds
•Corn oil
•Cottonseed oil
•Safflower oil
•Soybean oil
•Sunflower oil
•Walnuts
•Pumpkin or sunflower seeds

I don’t know if this is a vegetarian blog.  But if it is not, salmon and other fresh water fish are excellent sources of Omega-3 fats.  Avoid farm raised fish if you can.
