Getting started on a diet is sometimes easy. You get ready and are motivated and excited at the prospect of becoming a thin person. The difficult part is staying on track. In theory it is very simple – eat 1500 calories per day and follow your exercise plan. In reality, you will sometimes get off track and lose sight of your goals. To help you stay on track, The 100 Calorie Diet team has developed Ten Amazing Success Tools. I have three of those success tool for you today. To learn more about The 100 Calorie Diet click HERE.
Success Tool #1 – Planning and Preparing
Planning and preparing for your day is so important that it can’t be stressed enough! Having a plan helps you stay on track everyday. Every successful business has a plan, every professional sports team has a plan, every successful person has a plan.
* Plan what you are going to eat each day and make sure to write it down in My Daily Food Plan. Do not start the day without your plan.
* Make sure you have all the foods you’re going to need. Be prepared for your day.
* If you are going to go to a restaurant, plan what you will be eating and drinking before you get there.
* If you are going to a party, call the hostess to find out the menu. Plan what you will be eating and drinking before you get to the party.
* Vacations can be especially challenging. Plan to enjoy the food part of your vacation. Simply stay within your calorie limit. Make sure to take The 100 Calorie Diet and Food Counter, My Daily Food Plan and My Daily Food Journal with you on vacation. Take them AND use them!
* Don’t make excuses for why you didn’t plan, like I didn’t have time or I didn’t want to be on my plan. This will only get you off track and it is terribly difficult to get back on track.
Success Tool #2 – Visual Goal Reminders
Visual goal reminders are important because the very act of writing down your goals and keeping them where you can see them makes these goals very real. It is sometimes easy to lose sight of your goals if you haven’t identified them and put them in the forefront of your mind. Use index cards or Post-It® notes to write down your goals and put these where you can see them everyday. Put them on your mirrors, on your refrigerator, in your car or at your desk. Read them several times a day. Each individual will have their own personal visual goal reminders and it is your job to personalize your unique list. Following are some examples:
* It’s very important to stay on my plan.
* I am happy to be eating healthy foods.
* I enjoy walking and moving my body.
* I will look good and wear nice clothes.
* I will write down my plan everyday.
* I will eat more to lose weight.
* Losing weight will change my life.
* I am proud of myself for the positive changes I am making!
* I love The 100 Calorie Diet!!!
