When Nabisco put 100 calorie snack packs on the market, Tammy and I jumped for joy! One of the reasons I packed on the pounds over the years is that I had a MAJOR problem with portion control. If I had a bag of cookies, I’d sit down and mindlessly eat cookies. I had absolutely no idea how many calories I was eating. Or, I would tell myself I couldn’t have even ONE cookie which drove me to the point that I was obsessed about having cookies and/or not having cookies. I LOVE cookies, so I ran out and bought the Chip Ahoy! Thin Crisps, Lorna Doone Shortbread Cookie Crisps and Oreo Thin Crisps. You would not believe how much these 100 calorie snack packs helped me to control my eating. I would take a pack to work, and instead of heading to the vending machine, I could eat my 100 calorie cookies guilt-free! This new way of thinking about food in 100 calorie units changed my life! Tammy and I came up with the idea to eat ALL foods in 100 calorie units. That’s when we developed The 100 Calorie Diet and Food Counter.
